Pluris owns and operates multiple water and wastewater utilities around the US. They have provided MBR as a solution to several of their customers wastewater problems. This new MBR facility is in Hubert, NC in Onslow county and is replacing a failing existing SBR system. A new NPDES permit was applied increasing the flow from 300,000 gpd to 350,000 gpd. New construction was proposed at the same site for a 4-stage BNR process including pre and post anoxic basins for achieving denitrification. Other unit process include Rotary drum fine screens, flow equalization and aerobic digestion.
