2023 project overview

Project Category : Retrofit

Project Type : Conversion

Scope : Turnkey

Previous Membrane : OVIVO (Flat Plate, SiC)

Installed Membrane : MYTEX (Flat Sheet, Polymeric)

Status : Operational

DESCRIPTION

At a ski resort in Taos, New Mexico, premature failure of silicon carbide (SiC) membranes, and other system issues, created operational challenges for the onsite MBR system.

MMBR replaced the legacy equipment with polymeric MYTEX membranes from UNISOL. Working closely with operators, the membrane part of the upgrade took approximately 48-hrs. The workplan was phased to minimize service disruptions.

The turnkey replacement, including membrane removal, installation, piping modifications, and commissioning, was completed in about 10 days. The project restored reliable performance and increased plant capacity, showing MMBR’s ability to recommend the best solution regardless of membrane material, geometry, or brand.

Our wastewater treatment plant has greatly improved since moving over to the new membranes provided and installed by MMBR Systems. We have currently had no issues with our samples being out of compliance per our permits.
