Ballina’s regional Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) serves a growing coastal municipality in Australia. To meet rising demand and improve reuse quality, the existing MBR system was expanded from 1.5 MGD to 1.9 MGD and converted from microfiltration (MF) to ultrafiltration (UF) membranes.
Working with local integrator Hydroflux, and the manufacturer, MMBR Systems delivered 36 backward-compatible TORAY-based membrane units for four basins. The new modules dropped into place over existing diffusers and used the same blowers, allowing each basin to be converted in about five days, or 20 days total.
MMBR supported the design, fabrication, and installation, of the replacement membrane equipment. Our team also provided remote monitoring and optimization services.
