MBR System Upgrade

The M|MBR team supported the Stillaguamish Tribe in building the first Angel of the Winds Casino wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in 2004. The design capacity of that first plant was 50,000 GPD. Later, we helped to deliver a new, 80,000 GPD MBR system adjacent to the first plant in 2014. The old facility was decommissioned as a treatment plant and repurposed for sludge processing. In a 2021 project, working with the same owner, engineer, and operations company, M|MBR increased the WWTP capacity by 50%, from 0.08 MGD to 0.12 MGD. Most recently, in 2024, M|MBR installed BIO-CEL L+ membranes, replaced permeate pumps, modified piping, and updated controls. Membrane installation took roughly 8 hours and was coordinated with operations to minimize service disruptions.

In all, we have supported four significant MBR projects at this same location in support of growth and conservation goals.
