DESCRIPTION
In 2004, our team delivered one of the first flat-plate MBR systems in the U.S. at McKinney Roughs, a compact, stainless-steel MPAC package plant rated for 25,000 GPD.
Twenty years later, the site needed a longer-term solution at far greater scale. NXT|MBR delivered it: a 250,000 GPD system, 10x the original capacity, using membranes three times more efficient than the 2004 technology, built on CROM² concrete tankage engineered for a 50+ year service life.
McKinney Roughs also marks how far MBR has come as a technology. Once chosen mainly for its small footprint and high effluent quality, MBR now competes on total cost of ownership. The 250,000 GPD system was awarded through a competitive bid and reportedly 30% below alternative technologies. The site can accommodate expansion up to 750,000-GPD as demand grows.
